Building a Relationship
There are areas of law, like criminal defense, where seeing a client again is not necessarily a good thing. That is not true for the kind of law I practice. I have some clients that have been with me since the beginning. They come to me for incorporation, and return to me to guide them through their growth and prosperity, to help them avoid or pursue litigation, and develop a successful business exit strategy.
Because I am also a probate lawyer, those same clients will ask me to assist them with devising a plan to pass their business to their children. Sometimes it happens the other way around. A client comes to me because his loved one died without a will; after experiencing the consequences of inadequate estate planning, he realizes that he better draft one for himself. Contact Us
Small Business General Counsel
By now, most businesses have figured out that outsourcing can save them time and money . A smaller business may be able to afford a full-time lawyer, but that doesn't mean they need one or that it makes financial sense for their business. I have functioned as general counsel for many small and medium-sized businesses by drafting contracts, reviewing contracts, and structuring commercial and business transactions. Contact Us
Business Litigation
I actually began my law practice as a contract dispute litigator. During that time, I became proficient at doing what I call “contract autopsies”. Every bad contract has a story behind it, and that story usually has something to do with money. Once I knew the story, I could properly assess liability.
I used this knowledge to work my way backwards. Because I have seen so many ways in which contracts can mislead parties and be misinterpreted, I draft my clients' documents to avoid those pitfalls. Avoiding those pitfalls means less stress, less financial exposure, and more time for my clients to concentrate on running their business.Contact Us
